About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Port Chester, NY, Benito Restaurant / Hollywood Chicken International offers an authentic taste of Dominican cuisine that promises to delight every sense. This vibrant Dominican restaurant is a cherished local gem, known for its warm atmosphere and rich, flavorful dishes that transport diners straight to the Caribbean.

The menu here is a celebration of traditional Dominican cooking, featuring standouts like Chivo Guisado, a tender goat stew infused with aromatic spices that burst with each bite, and perfectly crispy Tostones—golden-fried plantains with just the right balance of crunch and softness. Sweet Fried Plantains offer a luscious contrast, caramelized to perfection, while the Jalea, a medley of fried seafood, sings with ocean freshness and savory seasoning.

For those looking for hearty, soul-warming options, Benito’s selection of Dominican soups is simply irresistible. From the comforting Sancocho, a nutrient-rich stew brimming with fresh vegetables and meats, to the rich and flavorful Res Sopa (beef soup) and the unique, traditional Mondongo (tripe soup), each bowl offers a depth of flavor that comforts and excites. Accompanying these dishes, guests can also savor hot drinks like the robust Café Negro con Leche or indulge in the soothing warmth of a Chocolate Hot Chocolate or Avena (oatmeal drink).

Customers repeatedly praise Benito’s dedication to authenticity and quality. Jennifer Camacho recounts how her family’s birthday celebration was elevated by Benito’s catering, highlighting the crave-worthy crunchy pork skin on the pernil—“absolutely delicious” and a standout favorite. Regular visitor Luis Ruiz applauds the consistent excellence of the dishes and the genuine friendliness of the wait staff, affirming the restaurant as a go-to spot for traditional Spanish flavors. Likewise, Robin Smith cherishes the generous buffet servings of rice, beans, salad, and especially the pork, which she describes as “one of the best I have ever tasted,” capturing the magical culinary craftsmanship found here.

One of the truly endearing qualities of Benito Restaurant is its welcoming environment. Shelley Valentin shares an experience that underscores the staff’s helpfulness and kindness, even overcoming language barriers with warmth and patience. The clean, inviting setting makes the restaurant not just a place to eat but a comforting hub where guests feel valued and cared for.

In essence, Benito Restaurant / Hollywood Chicken International is much more than a meal; it’s a heartfelt Dominican culinary journey filled with vibrant flavors, tender moments, and the genuine spirit of community. Whether you’re savoring a carefully prepared soup, indulging in crispy tostones, or simply soaking in the friendly vibe, this restaurant invites you to experience Dominican culture in every bite.

We celebrated my mother's birthday and ordered catering from Benito's restaurant! It was absolutely delicious and everyone asked where we ordered our food from. Our guests loved the crunchy pork skin on the pernil. We have ordered from Benito's over the years and never disappoints, you can't beat the price as well.

I have been at least 5 times. I love eatting rice, salad, beans, and plantains. I have only had the buffet. The food is good and they arrange it nice on a plate and bring it to your table. Many of the employees don't speak English, but we both try really hard and end up at the right place. My boyfriend says "i don't know what they do to the pork, but it is one of the best I have ever tasted."
